Welcome back to my blog!
I love to recommend books that encourage, enlighten and inspire…
Reading about others in the same situation as you can be so validating, inspiring and hopeful – discovering how others are facing and resolving the same challenges as you.
Here’s two books published this month that aim to do exactly that. Summer holiday reading – sorted!!
BE INSPIRED!
2022 update! – you can now read my chapter for FREE here. I wanted to make it more easily accessible to more people. Please consider a donation to Samaritans or a charity of your choice.
Courage: Stories from Darkness to Light, already an Amazon bestseller, is a collaborative project by 11 authors, many who haven’t voiced their stories in public before, describing how the darkest times of their lives led to significant mental and emotional health challenges which they’ve subsequently overcome. It’s a book about courage and hope. I was delighted to be one of the contributing authors, sharing my story of recovery from Cassandra Syndrome more openly and honestly than ever. About my chapter, Tony Attwood said ‘The journey through life with someone who has undiagnosed autism can be a lonely journey without a map. Natalie’s story describes how to achieve a sense of self-direction and to eventually share the journey together.’ Other topics covered in the book include addiction, postpartum psychosis, bipolar, living with life threatening illnesses and many more. Proceeds from the sale of every copy will be donated to the Samaritans for the incredible work they do supporting people when they are most in need.
Neurodiverse Relationships is a unique collection of stories created by Joanna Pike. You’ll hear from 12 heterosexual couples in which the man is on the Autism Spectrum and both partners sharing their perspective on all sorts of different issues. Autism expert, Tony Attwood, contributes a commentary and Q&A section for each of the twelve accounts. Neurodiverse Relationships is the first book of its kind to provide perspectives from both sides of a relationship on a variety of topics including anxiety, employment and socialising.
If reading these stories raises any questions or issues for you that you’d like to chat with me about, you can contact me anytime on 07977 585072 or book a call with me or join me live in Loving Difference.
With love and sparkle for the journey of continued discovery…
