Note: you can use this practice of creating intentional moments for other times too – Christmas and other festivals, birthdays, summer holidays, etc.
TAKE 10 MINUTES AS SOON AS YOU CAN .. to dream Easter Moments into being 🌟
As another Easter weekend arrives I remember past sadness. Feast Days and Bank Holidays have been a big pain point for me in the past. Moments of something but rarely the anticipation and shared togetherness of the season I hoped for. Instead I ended up feeling lonely, disappointed and resentful.
So I created a practice that’s helped me navigate these times more intentionally and happily… I hope it brings the same for you too.
Set aside a few minutes to create Easter Moments. If they involve others you might invite them into your moments. If it’s declined let that be ok. Maybe ask if there’s something they’d like to do instead. Let no be ok. If there is something, say yes!
A few of mine:
- Night away with sparkle partner, Heather Parks before the weekend!
- Saturday Easter Trail meet up with daughter and her sausage doggies!
- Egg hunt for the grown up kids – yet to be scheduled, may be another day or weekend and that’s ok!
- Sunday walk with Pete and a meal we both enjoy for dinner
- Daffodils and hot cross buns
- Reading and walking in the sunshine with myself – fingers crossed for sunshine!
… and be open to moments arriving that you haven’t planned or expected. Receive them fully..!! Letting go of how I think it should look let’s these Easter Moments in..
I miss the potential ease of togetherness that eludes us.. then I recognise there is ease in the togetherness we have, it just isn’t my favourite shape! Only when I expect or try to make it a different shape is it dis-eased! I’ll seek out connection with my away-tribe too so that, at home, we can be well in our ‘beautifully unconventional’ togetherness that embraces difference, includes introversion and solitude as well as moments of together.
Happy Easter.. wishing you moments of togetherness you can cherish .. ❤️
