This quote’s in My Top 5 Quotes That Saved My Life…

Quote Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning to dance in the rain

Today, it was pouring with rain, but it’s Friday morning and that means it’s time to walk. I know friends will be waiting and we’ll chat and laugh in spite of the rain and wind. At one point the rain was hurting my eyes, it may have even been hail by then… in spite of the challenging weather, I felt so alive…

When life’s storms arrive we have to put one foot in front of the other, at times we may not even be able to look up and see very far ahead at all, maybe only as far as the next step. It was certainly like that this morning and it reminded me of the stormiest times I’ve had over the last few years, navigating neurodiversity in my relationship. Some days, I couldn’t face the storm at all.

Learning and putting into action some new life saving strategies means you can start dancing in spite of the weather that’s surrounding you

There was a time we didn’t walk every Friday….now, for many of us, Friday simply doesn’t feel right unless we walk together first… a new habit takes time and then becomes so sacred and immovable because you know how life giving it has become.

Having said all of that, if life feels like your relationship is a constant storm, you’d do well to seek out different weather – finding islands of sunshine; changing yourself (remember we can’t change anyone else!) and/or your environment so that there is more sunshine than showers. That may not be immediately possible, but you can work towards brighter days one rainy step at a time.

Learn some new moves and start dancing yourself into a sunnier life!

With love and dancing sparkle…
